That has always been a tradition here too starting with my son and me choosing one each year then when he grew up and left home it was me and my OH. Last year my step daughter chose one for each person in the house as it was her first Christmas with us. Maybe this year we will mark our new granddaughter's first Christmas in this special way.
Very jolly jars with the pretty painted patterns and sweets, I like the striped candy canes.
